No, but might, looks like it has potential as a nice Trap round, thanks for sharing. My concern would be powder migration if used as a hunting shell since the Rem wads fit a somewhat loosely in Fed hulls. |

I'm probably all wet here, but that much Red Dot in a 1 oz. 16 gauge load seem iffy to me. Did the manual list the pressure? Seems potentially high pressure to me. |

my only Lyman is the #2 - used it to ref the super mag . This load uses a mild primer , a mild wad and a large cap case , so it's probably fine as published . Also , RD is a flake powder that could also work . This could fall into one of those loads that COULD have a good consistency or maybe not . It was/is common for the Rem wads to be listed with sev diff cases as there wasn't much of a variety back then .( the Rem loads listed in this book , are the old strait walled / fiber base cases with the 109 primers . Rem cases were thicker even back then ) |

I actually found this in the 16ga reloaders site. The pressure is quite strong at 10,350 but still below SAAMI max pressure. I think max pressure is a bit above 11,200? Wanted to try it in a semi |

It's probably fine then, but only because it's based on a sloppy wad fit. Not a load I would pursue, but who knows? |

Yep, and I do use other powders such as unique/long shot/u clays -- I do have 24lbs of Red dot and at the low prices of 12ga competition loads I haven't been loading for 12. |

I have used this particular load and it shot quite well out of my BPS at 16 yds but not so well out of my 870. If it is all you have I would go ahead and give it a try but Green Dot and 700X worked better than Red Dot. |

Shot it today at skeet #9 lead out of my A5 Sweet Sixteen -- killed hell out of clays. |

Lyman's 3rd edition lists that load at 1325 fps and 10,300 L.U.P. which doesn't equate to 10,300 psi. Bear in mind that readings in psi are usually higher but from what I have read there is no direct conversion factor to calculate the difference and that it will vary a bit. If nothing else, backing down .5 grain on the powder charge should leave plenty of velocity and still cycle a semi. |

Sounds like you have a good load , If had 24lbs of RD I'd be trying use it too. Although it might be better suited for 3/4 -7/8oz and save money on lead at the same time |
