I don't have much experience with the other classic guns but I really enjoy my LC Smith so why bother with a gun I can't afford? |

Of the group listed, the Syracuse Lefever is the only one that can't shoot loose. And, they are side-plated boxlocks to boot, and as such, are fairly easy to work on. If they had been made longer, it is likely they would be much more popular than they are. |

Let's see. we have 5559 members, 49 participated in this poll for a whopping .0088 percent.
Whole lot of folks on this site don't seem too concerned about other peoples' opinion.

Why not? What's stopping you? Do like Chicago: "Vote early and vote often"!

I have no dog in this fight so take my comment for what it's worth, but without Parker listed individually the poll is null and void in my opinion. Running for cover! |

Read the posts in the thread, Beagleman. You'll see the apologies from the get-go. I'm to blame It was inadvertent -- an obvious error/oversight. Parker enthusiasts were invited to respond to the "other" choice as I could not edit the poll. If they did, there weren't a lot of them, but I can understand their abstentions, if that's what accounted for the low numbers. I agree with Dave E. that the poll is invalid; I started it and I take responsibility for it! So Parker enthusiasts, again please forgive me, and please feel free to start your own poll on which U.S. Made SxS is the best, or whatever you want, as I have a bad record on poll-formulation lately and am afraid I'd foul up another -- you'll notice I started two faulty polls! Bad start to the year, I guess. But then again, maybe third time is a charm. So either start a poll yourself, and include Parker or any other brand you would like, or let me know if you want me to start it.
Charlie16ga -- The poll was not intended to slight your preference nor that of anyone else. Most understood it was for U.S. Made SxS. Yes, you can call your O/U a double. I guess I allowed a leak in the poll description. By the way, which US-made O/U have you got in mind? Citori's and most modern Brownings plus old Win 101's and 96's are Japanese-made. Superposed are Belgian-made, as are the new 101. Others with U.S. brand names come from Turkey, Italy or Spain. That leaves the Remington 32 and 3200, the Marlin 90, an old Savage, the Ruger Red Label, or one of the CSMC products -- which of those did you have in mind? Maybe Researcher can come up with others. Anyway, I think it was pretty clear what we were after in titling the poll, and again, it was pretty clear it was not chosen to slight you. So if you want a poll for your favorite gun, have at it; I'll be the last to hold you back! |

I call for a do over.
No apologies needed or warranted. No need for anybody's panties to get all wadded up. It was a simple oversight.
Let's all see how the Pahcah's do next time around. |
