Hello All,
I'm brand new to this forum. I currently own 3 16 gauge shotguns. Two are Ugartecheas: a 257 (Grade IV/75) and a Grade V/110. The third is a William Ford SXS box lock.
The Ford is a quite nice shotgun, although I know almost nothing about William Ford or his guns and don't know when it was made. It's been gone over and kooks truly excellent. The barrels were not as well finished as UI'd like and would like someone who does excellent work to re-black or acid blue the barrels. I don't know what finish is on them now, but would like to keep it as close to the original as possiblle. I can post pictures when I get home and figure out how to do so.
Any thoughts? |

Welcome!
Please some pics of your guns!!
You'll want to find some one who does traditional rust blueing for those double barrels. |

Thanks for the welcome.
I'll take some photos of the Grade IV and the Wm. Ford and post as I figure how. Will Photobucket work?
The grade V is visiting a friend and won't be home until the last week of May. I'll post it then and show the 257 engraving to compare. |

tda003,
Just joined myself, looks like real fine respectful forum, similar to the 28 gauge forum.

Welcome to the forum.
16’er gives good advice, have the barrels rust blued. If you need ideas on who can do that just ask. I am from the midwest and know folks over here, but there has to be someone closer that will do a great job and someone on the forum will know who that is.
Good Hunting,
Mike |
