For those folks on the western part of the state or close by Allegheny North woods chapter of RGS is also having a shoot and it is coming up on Saturday February 25 at the Sandy Creek Conservancy near Franklin. The info and application is on the RGS web page. Contact is David Galbreath--dgalbreath@zoominternet.net. I am going to try out my new sweet 16. I hope to hit more the 16 birds but you never know

Sandy Creek is a nice walk through the woods. Mostly shots in the timber but some open, longer shots as well. Turn west off Rt. 8 beside Maurers Gunshop. Maurers is worth a look also.

Same day as one of the LCSA sporting clays breakfast shoots. Busy day for the middle of winter!

16clays, have you wound up forming a 16ga squad at that RGS shoot in the past?

No, the guys I shoot with shoot 12 gauge but I am working on them and I haven't run into any other 16 gauge shooters at my home club, Castlewood

I shot at Castlewood several years ago, the pyramid 5-stand was a treat. Made it to the LCSA breakfast shoot this past weekend and shot it with Mod/Cyl chokes. Maybe shouldn't have tried some of the longer shots but some of them broke. Before hitting the ground, even.

Maurer's had 7/8oz 12ga shells by Federal that don't kick very much in a light O/U yet break trap targets just fine. Nice shop.
