I got this barrel with a 50's Sweet 16 I bought awhile back. Flipped the Sweet and kept the barrel but I really don't need it.

It's a plain barrel, bead front sight, 25.5", choked Mod, from a standard weight gun. The ejector slides, meaning it has been converted from 2 9/16" to 2 3/4".

Condition is to be expected... rust blue at maybe 50% but bore is in very good shape.

I'm not really positive on what to ask for it but let's start at $250, shipped CONUS, and if you feel strongly about it, shoot me a message and we can talk about it.

Very interesting. That's a 1909 serial number, but other features on the barrel date it between 1924 to 1929. Those serial numbers range from 28,401 to 82,750. If you could provide a picture of the proof marks maybe the date code will be visible.

Hey Rudolph, nice to see you're here as well as the Browning forum.

This barrel has what looks to be a cursive G which would mean 1928. It also has both an F* (by the choke designation) and an H* (near the Liege proof and the 16/65.)

The F*, if it's the proof controller, would work with 1928. The H* started in 1938.

It definitely doesn't say St Louis, so it's pre-1929.

I'm not too hung up on what year it was made... we all know Browning serial numbers were dodgy in the early days. Thanks for your help though.

Strange barrel for sure. In addition to the serial number, it has 2 controller codes. By the way, I never put much faith in those as the list is far from complete. My 1903 has a */J and I've seen pictures of 1904 guns with a */T.

Good luck with the sale. If it was cylinder bore I might have been interested as I get tired of loading spreader shells.

why do you want a cyl bore? My 1929 A5 has one and am trying to figure out the best use for it.
