I notice that Will Primos is now shooting his turkeys on his TV show with a SxS 20 gauge. Can you folks fill me in on that shotgun he uses? What say you? Thanks...

I heard from the folks at Primos that Will's double is a Purdy 16 gauge...nice.

A double barrel with two triggers is by far the best choice for a turkey gun. My big double is a 3" mag Iver with mod and full choke constrictions, but I don't tote it just anywhere because I don't take it in bad weather, long tote hunts, or anywhere I can benefit from using a sling like in the mountains. With the new 20 gauge ammo, Will is on to something with a scaled frame twenty. Lite tote that gun is. Reno

Reno, you are preaching to the choir about double triggers. Two of my early turkey guns were 10 gauge sxs's with double triggers. No Purdey, but this fella's CZ Bobwhite 28 is a slick gobber getter. 5 lbs., 3 oz. shooting 1.5 oz. of TSS 9's it out shoots my old 10's shooting lead shot. He added a Skinner peep sight and Marbles fiber optic post for precision aiming of the tight left barrel's pattern. The right barrel is open for closer shots. HE had it dipped. He carries it on the sling muzzle down, the gun is short enough to carry in that fashion and comes to battery quicker according to him. He's got me thinking about converting my Bobwhite....

Gil, your buddy has a cool rig . I am going to use my Rizzni O/U this weekend because it is the only double gun that I can shoot TSS through at this time . This is my first season using TSS so I have had to change guns . I killed one at 50 yards with 1 9/16 oz of 9.5s stone dead . It is awsome stuff .

I have a little Bayard SXS hammer gun that I am going to use next year after the chokes are installed .

Turns out that Will actually carries a Purdy 16 gauge hammer gun. Now, I wish I knew how his gun is choked and what ammo he uses...

One of the leading turkey hunters and guides in Maine, who we've had come talk to my gun club, uses a 12 ga hammer Parker (V grade) with long twist barrels. A lot more style than camo-pattern plastic, IMHO.
