Is it possible to use a 16ga 1100 barrel on a 12ga receiver. Just curious

skeetex will respond soon ... it is possible , however , you need a new bolt and a few other parts that are ga dependent .

Hello Saemac

Welcome on your first postings Smile

Yes, but you will need 16 gauge parts in the 12 gauge receiver.

Originally the 12, 16, and 20 were on the same receiver, but had different ending serial number letters.

V 12 GA. (2 3/4”)
M 12 GA. MAGNUM (3”)
A 12 GA. “SUPER” MAGNUM (3 ½”)
W 16 GA. ( 2 ¾” )
X 20 GA. “HEAVY FRAME” (DISCONTINUED)
N 20 GA. “HEAVY FRAME MAGNUM” (DISCONTINUED)
K 20 GA. “LIGHT WEIGHT” (“LW”) (ALSO INCLUDES M/1100 “LT”)
U 20 GA. LW MAGNUM (ALSO INCLUDES M/1100 “LT”)
J 28 GA.
H .410 BORE (2 ½” OR 3”)

More info

Start here

http://www.gunpartscorp.com/Products/814560.htm

Then add an interceptor latch

http://www.gunpartscorp.com/Products/102470.htm

MAYBE you can get by with just these

Good luck and let us know how it goes

I assume you already have a complete 1100 in 12 gauge for the other parts
stock, trigger assembly, forend, etc, etc

Mike

Glad to report that the 1100 12ga conversion to 16ga is complete and was successful. Very Happy
