My wife and I were out and about today so we stopped into Dicks Sporting Goods to look around to see what we could pick up cheap I wasnt going to go into the "hunting lodge" but i couldnt resist......Remington Game Loads now on sale 12,16,20ga for $2.78. I shook my heads and grabbed a couple boxes of 12 ga. Im just wondering when prices will turn and go north, granted these arent the absolute best shells on the planet but lets face it they mill do the job on most light game (6,7.5,8 shot) . So if your in the need id say jump now I dont see how they could get any cheaper than $2.78 a box!

Those prices are just a pipe dream here in CA.

I was ordering the Remington GL's online from BassPro as even after shipping, it was still cheaper than buying locally. Now even BassPro has raised their prices (3.99/box). Now it's about a wash, if I can find them on sale, for less than $5/box.

Might take a ride tomorrow since it's going to rain all day anyway, and see about getting a few more boxes of 6's.

Well I took a ride to the local Dick's. They had the shells on sale but not at $2.78. They were $3.48. A little better than the normal 10% case discount but nothing great.
I didn't buy any.

In Massachusetts Dick's has them on sale for $2.98 a box !!!

Next problem is to find a store that stocks them in 16GA #8's.

I need two "Flats" to take care of them "Skeets" that are eating this
years Rasberry Crop !!!

My Wife said to buy them if I need them for "Pest Control" Smile !!!

Best

Here in the South Bend area, Dicks has 12's and 20's in #8's, and also 16 ga. #6's, for $2.98/box. I did not need 6's but did buy several boxes of 12's and 20's in #8; I can't afford to spend time loading them when I can buy for that price.

I'm in CA and can attest that 16 ga shells have become as scarce as wild pheasants in the southern part of the state. Up until about four years ago I could find Win Super-X 16's at most K-Marts, but after their bankruptcy and the Sears acquisition, 16's disappeared from the usual K-Marts. Lately, even 12 and 20 have become scarce at K-Mart. Even in dove hunting Meccas like Blythe and El Centro, you can't find the shells. WalMarts in El Centro and Yuma always sell out of the Rem Game Load 16's immediately, but usually have some Federal high base 1-1/8 and 1-1/4 left on the shelf at $8-$12 per box, depending on the load.

I was told last week by a guy in Las Vegas that the Bass Pro in Vegas had Rem Game Loads on sale at the end of August for $1.98/box, in 12-16-20, limit five flats. He got 41 assorted flats at that price, and that was only a couple of weeks after I bought their entire inventory of 16's at $3.69/box. Timing is everything.
