Hi All,
I am looking for a kind generous soul to send me one (1) Z-16 Field Commander wad for initial measurement and testing purposes for development of a new 2 1/2" load.
I successfully developed and tested 1 oz. loads for the SG-16 and VP80 (notox) wads in 2 1/2" Cheddite hulls that are the full equivalent to 1 oz loads in 2 3/4" hulls, and the Z-16 is my next project.
My previous Z-16 supply has been exhausted and I can't find a single solitary Z-16 anywhere in the house, not even under the sofa or among the dust bunnies behind the loading bench.
The reason I wish to examine the Z-16 is that the SG-16 fits in 2 1/2" hulls with 1 oz, but just barely, and the Z-16 might be a bit more comfortable there...maybe...because it doesn't have the nubs under the powder seal like the SG-16.
In exchange for your wad, I will send you my initial findings on the the fit and capacity (inc. shot, powder, and crimp) of the Z-16 wad in a 2 1/2" hull compared to the SG16. Should everything fit (which is by no means certain), I will obtain more wads from BPI for chrono and pressure testing.
PM me if you are inclined to part with one of you Z-16 wads, an envelope, and postage stamp.
TIA

Pm me your address and I will mail you a few wads . I could also save some time as I already have a really consistent 1oz Load in a 2 1/2 hull if you are interested .

Did you try the SG-16S (short). I have used those in a 2-1/2" 1 ounce load. |

Thank you, I have not tried the SG-16S. It looks very promising for 2 1/2" loads.
