I am sure the trip will provide some nostalgic moments and new memories. Enjoy both the holidays and the plains.

Good Hunting,
Mike

Brutal conditions, barely over zero and wind, but shot my limit everyday in less than 2.5 hours, Citori and New Sweet 16 tied, have yet to miss a bird with the Citori this season.

Good deal, Hootch. What part of the state, and private or public ground?

Good luck and be careful. There are only a couple barbed wire fences between the Dakotas and the North Pole to block the wind. I think I heard one of them is down Razz

I hunted central So Dak, private ground. They had more rain there this summer, bird numbers down, but there are birds to be had. Cold weather helped me, got the young dog some work, she did good, lost her mind a couple of times, after a bird or two that gets shot, she gets really amped up, couple good retrieves on some downed birds, two solid rooster points, flushed shot and retrieved.

That’s awesome Hootch. Nothing like watching a youngster learning their job to warm your heart on a cold day!

I can't imagine being up there this time of year. Just for fun tho, I check the weather in Gettysburg this time of year and smile, when it's 30 deg with no wind here and I think I'm cold. We have always gone the 1st week in Nov. it's cold enough for me then esp with the never ceasing wind. I live in ALA
