Does anyone on this site re-load 16 gauge for Turkey loads?..or is there a specific Turkey load that can be purchased. I have a bunch of old 16 ga Winchester high brass 2 3/4" 1 1/4oz #4's. I will be shooting a Remington 1100 16 ga with a dedicated xtra-full Colonial Arms extended choke with a 28" barrel..how do you think those might work?..any suggestions.

I have my reloading setup about 2 hours from you in southern Illinois, most of what Iíve read and patterned has been using a .60 turkey choke from Trulock through a BPS. My load is 1-1/4 oz of buffered #6 at around 1,125 fps out to around 35 yards.
Get real good patterns with it.
I have Trulockís turkey choke for RemChoke too. If we could meet up sometime Iíd give you a couple loads and let you barrow the Choke to test out.

Mine is a weak sample of one, as I shot a hen in the Fall season using a Fiocchi factory loading of 4's. I found out the shot was closer to #3 in size, but it didn't matter at close range through a choke of .003". I was trying to scare the birds toward a friend but they had changed direction before I got to where I thought "behind them" was.
If intentionally hunting them I'd pattern the 4s, 5s and 6s on hand and go with the most uniform.

I've only shot a few, and all were shot with 12ga baby magnums with 6's because that's what I had. None were past 25-30 yds. At that range, just about anything that shoots where it's pointed and patterns decently should work.
