I have a chance to buy an AYA Matador for $250. Seems tight, no rust, not much wear. 26 inch barrels, Mod/Full, ejectors, single selective trugger. Just don't have the money right now for a more expensive gun. I assume this is probably a 60s gun and an entry level for AYA. but good enough to take in the grouse and pheasant coverts. Are they a decent shooter? The price seems reasonable. I know you get what you pay for. Any thoughts on a model 30 Ugartechea? A few more dollars and double triggers, but looks nice? Thanks for any inputs.

Serviceable gun
Good price

Usually the 26 inch guns were IC/Mod and the 28 inch guns were Mod./Full

thats a great deal. They tend to be a little heavy but all the Matadors I have owned were well built and were fun to shoot. I have had 10's 12s and 20s The 10s were running around $600.00 to $700.00 in the 1990's and now are allways priced in excess of $1000.00 now. The others were slightly less. I just loved a 3.5" 10 ga with ejectors.

You don't say what gauge it is, so we'll assume both guns mentioned are 16's.At $250, you're just barely above single shot price. You also say the Uggie is a "few" dollars more. You'd have to add at least $1k to the 250 to get mine. RUN,dont walk and buy both??? Good luck

Buy it now. I have 2 a 20 and a 28. Both are good shooters. I could have bought thee from the same guy but didn't because I already had several 16 gas. Dumb, dumb, and dumber.. $250 is very reasonable cheap even.

The Uggie model 30s are very nice guns...I could have picked up TWO 12ga guns, one a 26 one a 28, brand new, on a store clearance for 800.00....thought it over too long, came back and they were GONE....dumb dumb dumb

Ugartechea built the Parker-Hale imports some time back...passed a Grade 2, 16ga, in excellent shape for 700.00...agsin...thought too long.

Aya is a solid gun, and a good trader if you decide you want something else.
