Hello,

I'm a new member and a returning owner of a 16ga shotgun. My first, my Dad's old Belgian Browning A5, was stolen years ago. Got my first limit on ducks with that gun.

My recent 16 ga acquisition is a Wm. Evans SXS with 2 1/2" chambers. It was built in 1934 and had been restocked with usable dimensions at some fairly recent time. I very much appreciate your posts on lower pressure shell options as I do not load my own. Fortunately, RST has several good options.

Thanks to everyone for sharing their knowledge.

Welcome to the site. Very nice looking Evans and it is good to have another Eng. Setter fan at the site.

I have tried a number of different shells but the RST’s are my favorite. I am particularly fond of the paper hulls they sell, but they don’t always have them in stock. I like to give the fellows in PA my business because they are U.S. based and support the use of our old guns.

Fieldsport in Traverse City has a variety of English shells, or they used to. Gamebore makes nice shells but they are hard to find in the States. Fieldsport used to carry them and they may still keep them in stock.

Good Hunting,
Mike
