I JUST HANDLED THE NEW PERRAZZI 16 GAUGE. Not for me. For a pricy gun the wood sucked. Also, over 7 lbs. I think it weighed 7.6. I was not impressed. If anyone wants to buy one or two they have them at Pacific Sporting Arms east. The only two in the US. FWIW

I hear you on the weight. Unless the gun is going to be used for clay shooting, 7 lbs. 6 oz. just doesn't seem right for a 16. I recently passed on a super deal on a Baker R grade because it weighed that much. It kind of broke my heart, I really wanted that gun but knew that it would always bug me to not use it on birds as often as I should, and I wouldn't have.

IMO a 16 gauge field SXS should be under 6 lbs.

The Perazzi is an O/U. Perazzi made some 16ga O/U's on the 12 ga frame and I don't think they are much heavier, if any, than the current ones.

I hope the trigger is not gold...that would be a deal-breaker.

I owned one of the 16's built on a 12ga frame. It's weight was 7lb 12oz before I added choke tubes. It was a wonderfully made gun. Just too big of a frame. If I had the funds I would purchase one on a small frame in a minute. They are designed to shoot forever.

Maybe Perrazzi is not the fine sporting quality mfg. they appear. Just putting a smaller bore in a 12 gauage barrel. After tje money only. Shame.

The Jaqua's gun has undesirable choke combination. Have to tube it to make it an all around gun. Wonder if it came from Perazzi that way or it got opened up. Probably that's why it is priced the way that it is.

The gun at Jaquas looks to be on the 12 gauge frame , a friend emailed them and asked for the guns weight but has not had a response yet.

I seem to recall that Perazzi is famous for making trap guns and other clay game guns. They are heavy for a reason...to swing well. I also recall that most of the OLYMPIC medal winners shot Perazzis. I do not own one, yet. Just an observation. Oh, I agree that they are just too heavy to carry in the field, unless you are a blocker (sort of like being on a driven game shoot).
