Was digging around and found a box of old Win Super X "Upland Game Load", probably from circa 1992. These were 1oz #8, and have a reifenhauser design with a black plastic basewad, so not the old CF style. But they're pretty old. Not made in Australia, box says made in USA.

I shot them today at the skeet range, and there was so much "confetti" coming out of the barrel, from paper wadding that was shredding, that I couldn't even see or pick up the 2nd target on doubles-- every time I thought I'd hit them both at one shot, there was so much crap flying around, then I'd see the 2nd target. Never had that happen before, so the amount of shredded paper was considerable and consistent-- we were shooting doubles, and I couldn't see the second target on every single one. Had to switch ammo and use some Herters, which were fine and I had no problems.

Just thought I'd mention it, as I have never seen so much paper confetti come out the end of the barrel, in any commercial shell in any gauge. The shells functioned fine, and broke all the clays I shot at, and I'm sure I've shot a lot of that shell back in the day, but I never shot skeet or doubles with a 16 before, so probably just never noticed it on single dove.

Isn't 1992 about the same time they quit making compression formed hulls?
