Hello,
Has anyone who owns one of these gun attempted to disassemble the bolt? I am currently having trouble with the retention pin not wanting to be removed and the firing pin has zero tension on it. Any help will be greatly appreciated |

Yes I have , Going off memory , with correct size punch you should have to drift the pin out that holds the firing pin in , there is not a spring on the firing pin . it is correct that it just floats . I will look at it tonight to make sure that is correct. |

Went back and read and old post of mine . You will need the correct roll pin punch to remove the firing pin . Make sure you have the right punch or you could mess things up. It takes quit of bit of force to remove the roll pin that holds the firing pin in.
read through this .

I have no taken mine apart yet but was considering blasting it with gunscrubber and them lubing it vs removing the roll pin. |

Some of the new A5s have springs on the firing pins, but my Sweet doesn't. I don't know if that's true of all of them though. Some force is required to move the roll pin, but don't go smashing on it. You want to make sure you use a punch that isn't pointed as a pointed punch can wedge itself into the center of the pin and make the pin all but impossible to remove. In any event, disassembling the bolt should only rarely be needed. There isn't a lot going on inside there and a couple drops of oil on the bolt should be sufficient. Given that the gun doesn't use gas to cycle the action, the bolt and bolt body stay remarkably clean. |

I bought a new A5 Sweet 16 in the fall of 2016. Hunted quail that season with it quite a bit and it shot great but with a few cycling issues. Started hunting with it this past fall and it wouldn't cycle 3 shots in a row to save my life. Got so disgusted with it wanted to wrap it around a mesquite tree. Ultimately I sent it back to browning and after 5 weeks of them working on it; they replaced it with a brand new gun. Great customer service.
I was shooting mostly 1-1/8 oz HV #7-1/2's of several brands when the old gun had the issues. |
