at national gun day in Louisville ky, 16ga 28 inch, grade 3. Going to use it for trap and sporting clays, time to retire my marlin 90 in favor of a modern gun with interchangeable chokes. since this is a field grade, I will be adding a morgan adjustable butt plate, send the buttstock off to Tronspace to have an adjustable comb installed and add about 8 oz of lead into the buttstock.

Beautiful stock! See if you can get that lead as far forward as possible. I stuck a slug of lead under a recoil pad on my Super-X Model 1 and about threw the guy on a springing target from beneath the stand. An added weight past the magazine cap did it up right eventually. Might be harder to do with an O/U.

That's kind of a rare bird in Citori 16 gauge . I would think twice about carving it up .

Carve it up Kennedy, make it fit and shoot for you. It took me a long time to decide on cutting on my grade 6 but I'm glad now that I did. I have got a lot of enjoyment out of it since I made it fit and shoot where I want it too. That is a nice find for sure but you won't make any memories with it sitting in the gun safe. Just my 2 cents lol

Congrats on the new gun! It’s your gun, make it work for you, if that means comb and butt plate, then as long as it’s a quality job, you’ll be happy.

Nothing really wrong with the Morgan adjuster, but I’d consider one that has a bit more variable adjustment. I think the final over all look and presentation of the gun could be better for not much more money. Having the ability to add a bit of toe out is something I’d consider. Just my two cents.

Keep us updated on the project progress!

step one will be adding a slip on comb, and a limbsaver 1/2inch,slip on butt pad, and see how it shoots, if good, then have it modified. I like the idea of a fully adjustable butt pad. If not good, then sell and buy something that does,

Dave, it's not too bad! A friend who shots a lot of clays is a machinist and made one of those caps for one of his auto's, a Beretta I think. I gave him the cap from my gun and he built one to fit. Tested it on the gun once, took it back to fine tune and it fits perfect. Threaded extension takes a variety of weights, the one in the picture is longest/heaviest.
