Getting back into reloading after a few years and I was double checking my old notes and information. I have different guns now so I want to double check my understanding of the proof marks and appropriate loads.
Brit SxS built in the early 1900s. Re-proofed for 2 3/4 chambers 3 1/4 tons in 1961 while being totally restored by the maker. Based on the forum Announcement: Proof and Pressure thread the service pressure guideline would suggest loads less than 9500 PSI.
Brit SxS built in 1948. Proof marks 2 3/4 chambers 1 1/8oz loads. I'm less clear on this but it looks like the service pressure would also be for loads less than 9500 PSI.
I shoot 3/4, 7/8 or 1oz 1200fps loads and have several tested loads which range from 7000-8500 PSI. Looks like those loads should be fine in these guns unless I'm not reading the information about proof marks correctly.
