Have you weighed it yet? How about the triggers? Are they well tubed and break crisp?

I recently bought one in 16 gauge, new from John Boyd in Houston. Single trigger, English stock, screw in chokes and 28" barrels. I am very happy with it. I am going to have a sporting pad fitted to it without cutting the wood and will retain the original hard butt pad. It beat up my shoulder pretty well after 4 rounds of club Skeet with it.

I bought it after I canceled my order from the Dickinson Custom Shop when the order got so screwed up.

The wood is not as nice as what I have seen on the custom shop Dickinson's and I have heard they work on the triggers of the custom shop orders.

The trigger on mine is ok, but I am still having it cleaned up by my local smith.

Enjoy and post how your road trial goes.

Bob

I shot one up in St. Paul at the SW16 shoot and it didn't come close to fitting me, but it was a very nice double and this one had a nicely figured stock.

I bought mine so I could have a 16 gauge SxS as a toy. Doesn't fit me perfectly, but I do not want to modify it beyond anything that will allow it to be put back in out of the box configuration.

Stock is at least 14.5" not likely to fit most, I will have mine fitted, I know that is too long for me.

Should receive it in a week or so.

I ran across a new Charles Daly 520 sxs the other day at a local shop. Comes with 5 tubes, semi beavertail, st, pistol grip, and only $700. Unfortunately it only comes in a 20 and 12ga. Fit me perfectly, and I was impressed with the overall fit and finish. Much better than I would have expected for a $700 gun. I'm considering the 12 for a dedicated target gun.

I will be back in Chicago August 8th, 9th and 10th. I am looking for a place to shoot skeet, open to the public. When I lived in Chicago, Lincoln Park was still open.

I would be happy to bring my FAIR ISIDE with me if you want to try it and can shoot on a weekday.

Cheers, Bob

Thank you - Now I have to wade through the addresses that I do not know and find which ones are regularly open to the public. Was hoping the original poster had some direct local input. I used to shoot at Northbrook, but I have not been a member for 20 years.
