Gun Show today

Up at 06:30.

Went to Men's Breakfast in the Canyon, YUM!
Bacon, Sausage, Eggs, Hash browns, Biscuits & Gravy, Orange Juice, Coffee.

Went home.

Charged the air conditioner in the Montero Sport.

Went to the gun show - $7 entrance fee.

Bought a 38 Special Lyman 310 set with handles and all the tools and box
another 310 set of handles, and a Lyman 310 30-06 priming tool, Lyman TC sizing die for 38/357 and a Lyman TC sizing die for 45 Colt.
Total cost $15

So for $7 + $15 = $22 I had a fun morning

Mike

Good Hunting,
Mike

I haven' seen a Lyman 310 tool in years! You hit the lottery this morning!. while i drove 150 miles to shoot in the GSSF shoot at Wellington, Ks and didn't shoot up to my ability although it was better than I have done there before. The best part was the cold front that came thru last night making it 20 degrees cooler than expected today.

There was a gun show here too. Saved my $12 and avoided looking at the same tables of over-priced tired stuff I saw at the last two or three shows (gee; maybe if it wasn't over-priced they'd sell some of it...think?) and the booths of jewelry, t-shirts, candied almonds, obnoxious bumper stickers, yada yada. Painted the hall and stairway instead.

Your treasures sure bring back memories. My first rifle was a 1903A3 I sporterized with a Bishop stock and a 6X Lyman scope. I bought one of those 310 tools to load for that 30-06. That was back in the '50's and as I remember that old two groove barrel shot pretty well with those handloads. I had the old Pony Express gun shop on San Fernando Blvd bend the bolt and drill and tap the action. It probably cost about $20 back in those days, but I was a young sailor making way less than a hundred a month. You look at all the equipment I use now to make handloads and it doesn't seem real. Sure had some great times back in those days though. Thanks for hitting the "Way Back" button.

That’s is what Skeeter Skelton always said you should have in a buyout bag.

Nothing beats shooting your favorite rifles and pistols with your own home-cast "boolits." Almost as much fun casting as shooting.

Enjoy your new toys!

Skeettx,

Mike what a great morning, and fantastic pick ups at the gun show. Sometimes a man can have a lot of fun for under $50.00 if he knows what he is doing!

Still looking for both the 28 gauge Crescent double gun and the H&R 28 Gauge Hammer Gun, if you happen to run across something at those nice Texas Gun Shops please let me know!

All the best

Six bucks to get in gun shows around here. Don't see all those booths of t-shirts, candy, etc.

Stuff is over priced, but if you dicker worth a damn, the prices CAN be negotiated,
wasn't all that long ago it was three dollars to get in the door. I am very glad that I don't NEED anything anymore.

By the way, the 310 tool Mike is talking about used to be called "the nutcracker" around here. Wink

Nice score Mike!
You need an old Lyman Ideal 55, to go with the set. Grab some wheel weights.......
