I have a winchester 25-20 and a colt 1911 that eject the brass on top of my head. I am soliciting advice on trying to alter the ejection pattern to my right. Has anyone changed the ejector hook ( by filing?) to alter the pathway? I suppose this could be done for semi-auto and pump shotguns to get the hull to throw in a more downward-right direction also. I do not want to change the spring tension as I have read about. Would relieving some metal on the left side of the hook cause a right ejection pattern? Thanks for any input, stan |

Wouldn't wearing a graduation cap with an aluminum plate on top be an option? Or a bicycle helmet with wire basket attached to catch the brass?
All kidding aside, I would need to see the ejector post arrangement on these guns to know whether your goal could be achieved. I suggest finding a gunsmith experienced in modifying these particular firearms. There may be a number of 1911 shooters who have an answer as well. I imagine those guys have a forum with a large following somewhere. Good luck with your quest. |
