I had a few cases of 1oz #8 game loads at 1165 FPS that I have shot up. So I reordered another few cases and these are now 1200 FPS and have much more perceived recoil in my M12. Are the 1165 FPS gone now?

These cycle much better than Herters which is the only other available brand I can find for about the same money

The last RGL I bought were also 1200. I believe that is the standard loading now from what I've seen.

If you find any good deals, please post for us.

So 1200 is the new normal, no good! 1165 is/was more better

I don't remember ever seeing any 1165 fps RGL's. Seems like they have always been 1200 fps, but of course I could be wrong. They are peppy!

Federals are 1165 fps and about the same price as RGL's. Available for $7.94 at the local Walmart.

The Federal's are definitely softer on the recoil than the Remington's. I have trouble finding the Federal's in CT.

When my lgs was still around the owner would order me a few cases of federals and he beat the Wally price by about a quarter a box. Tried to order before dove season and he would tack it on to his other orders. I like to support the indy shops when possible. This year I’ll need to rely on the reloader a bit more since the lgs closed up shop unfortunately.

Will the Frderals reliably cycle in a model 12?

Federals cycle fine thru all of our 2 3/4 marked 16s, they will NOT cycle (eject) from my short chambered 1914 vintage M12. The Rem will eject from the short chambered gun. Small sample and Federal may have changed, but unless it's marked as 2 3/4 16Ga I would not expect federals co eject.

Fiocci game loads are 1165 too, but I swear they kick more than the Remmys

Federals may, or may not, eject properly from a M12 even with 2 3/4" markings. If your M12 ejects everything sacrifice a goat to the gun gods and be thankful.

All this talk of cycling and ejecting.
Presumably semi auto issues?????
Are these types of scatterguns even supposed to be discussed on this forum? Shocked
