Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm a 33 year old avid waterfowler from British Columbia who grew up on our family farm listening to my grandpa tell me stories about all the ducks and pheasant he had taken with his Model 12 16ga. I finally ditched the 12ga and realized just how gorgeous the 16ga is and will never go back. Married with three children and two black labs "Hank and Loch". I'm very interested in waterfowl habitat and spend the spring and summer working on our farm improving the habitat. I'm a lover of good scotch, old hunting novels, black labs, warm fires, cool autumn day and believe that we need to get back to the way our grandpas hunted. I'm excited to share my pictures and stories! Thanks Matt

Welcome to the site Matt! We are always happy to see a dedicated hunter who enjoys his 16 join the group! Especially someone who enjoys hunting the "old fashioned way"

Welcome aboard friend. Old reads? My favorite has to be Ruark's "The Old Man and the Boy". Hunting the old way is timeless. How about hunkering in a backwater timber patch with an old 16 waiting for woodies?

One of my favorite books! I just read it to my son this summer.

I’m also 33 and live in south central Minnesota with my wife and 3 children.
Here’s a solo limit with my Ithaca M37 from last fall, my first year with the 16.

I recently joined after viewing anonymously for years. Unlike other sites, I haven’t seen all they petty infighting and bickering. Just seems like good people here. Welcome.
