Do you prefer to reload Remington Game Loads, Federal Game Loads, or Herters Dove & Quail Loads? I have a couple hundred hulls of each and wanted to know which if any you prefer, and why you prefer them. Any input will be greatly appreciated.

All do well
The Remington's do best in the Model 12 pump gun and my early A-5.

Which Hulls Do You Prefer To Reload?
Free ones!
But, seriously, all of them load well, at least for a couple times.

I've loaded mostly Herter's because thats what I have the most of. I've only had 3 or 4 boxes each of the other two. I've really had better luck with the Cheddites I've bought as new primed hulls from Precision, Grafs, or BPI. It seems like they are a bit heavier wall or at least a slightly different material from the Herter's. It seems like I get more loadings from them than the Herter's or Remingtons. Haven't documented it, but that's the way I remember it anyway.
Edit to add: Fit isn't a problem for me, I shoot a modern SxS with 2 3/4" chambers.

Of the three you have I like the Federal best. Federal and Green Remingtons' are my favorite two.

I like the Federal hulls best for reloading.

All of the above do well.
I was given around 100 RIO 16 gauge hulls, after trying to reload them I wouldn't recommend anyone wasting their money buying them, total junk IMO.

Good to know. I saw Rios on sale at my local gun shop but decided not to buy any.

I have had good luck with the Herter's hulls but I have only loaded them about four times each so far. i have a couple thousand of them that I bought when they were selling for $59.99/case a couple years back and i wait until I have them all empty before sitting down for a real loading session.
The RP game load hulls don't last as long but they do run better thru my M12 and rem M11. I recently cut some down to 21/2" since the crimps were worn out and after the first loading they are ready to be discarded.
I haven't used federal hulls in many years since they are not commonly found in my area and when i do see them the cost is too high for this old cheapskate!

Im torn. I like the Federal for its larger capacity and ability to push the edge of the envelope with the 16ga. But I can only get 1 maybe 2 reloading from a hull. Where as with the Chedittes I can get 4 or more reloads from a shell.

I also like the ability to buy chedittes new instead of buying a box federals when all I really want is the hull.

A box Herters hulls always seem to be at least $1 cheaper than the rest, at least around these parts they are.

Ched's & RGL's. The Cheds work for everything I do, have plenty a capacity and are easy to get. The RGL's I use for my trap loads just because I have a load that works well (+ a mountain of SP16 wads) so I don't mess with it.

I'm curious as to why you only get 1 to 2 reloadings out of Federal hulls. I get 5 to 7,at times I switch to a Rio primer if the primer pocket becomes to loose. If the base wad starts coming apart I pitch em.

Hey mcrewz, Cheds/Herters Cheds, RIO Cheds and Winchester Cheds (all the same), as well as the very similar Fiocchi's and Martignonis (Nobel and some older Winchester Super-X but not the really old ones, and maybe even the B&P's and Gamebores) all have more capacity than Feds.
