Mark,
The only yellow papers I've seen were 20ga Federals and J.C. Higgins (no doubt made by Federal). Seems they introduced the safety yellow color just a few years before introducing plastic.
If you can't post a pic, can you describe the box the yellow 16's are in?

Peters used to make 16 gauge shells in that buff tan color same as the Victor shells, they also came in blue or red from Remington or Peters. Alcans were red, CIL were red, and Winchesters were red.
Federal yellow 16's never have seen them. |

Mikey , those Monarks really bring back some great , early memories - all we used to use ! .... Wyo - agree with the comp formed - especially for hunting in the outback where stuck shells etc could be a real issue . Never a worry with a comp . I've got about a clay box full of various Comp's in all gauges as they serve a very useful purpose - I'm not getting baited into the cases sticking in the chamber issue - that's what these alleviate ! especially 3 mis from the car ! |

Some paper Federals (J. C. Higgins) that aren't red or purple! My estate sale buddy found about 100 of these recently, and I'm loading them up with fiber wads.
