I bought a sxs 16 gauge today and have done a lot of research on the shotgun,, it has the tenite (plastic) stock which leads me to believe it was maybe made in the 60's but all the info I see says it was made in 1931, that sounds to early for a plastic stock, I will keep looking,, it has to A's in circles stamped on the receiver and to F's all on the receiver but you have to take the barrels off to see them ????????????????

If it was made after 1949 it will have a date code on the bottom of the receiver near the hinge, A=1949, B=1950 etc. Previous to that it's impossible to date it. I don't think there were any 5100's made in the 60's. Not sure when the Tenite stocks were used.
