I need a buttstock for a very early 2 1/2" 16 ga M12, will 12 ga or 20 ga buttstock fit?
It needn't be pretty, it will be subjected to some sawing and filing.
TIA

My model 12 (made 1929) in 16 gauge took a stock made for the 20 gauge frame size. Got mine for Boyds; nothing fancy. Did not care for the finish they used, but it fit without any work. Good luck |

Are you going to make a straight grip stock? |

16, 20 and 28g M12s are all small frame, and take the same buttstock. |

a 12ga stock will fit also , just needs to have wood from the outside removed for looks ... my trap gun wears a nice stock from the Winnie custom shop - fits fine . |

No, I will leave the grip as is but modify the LOP and pitch, and add a buttpad.
