I just ordered 20 boxes myself. At 4.88 a box I bought them with the thought that if BP is dropping the Herters shells I will stock up on the hulls even if they are loaded with sixes. I used up my points and after sales tax my order came to $84.27 for two cases of shells, With free shipping I know they will send them as full cases to cut their cost. this will be my last order from the company so i used up all my points. |

I wouldn't count on them coming in a full flat although being #6 they may. And I bought a flat of them before hunting season and it was an intact case.
The shortage actually started back in July I should have figured it out then. Every time Herters 16's go sale I always get at least 2 flats and have for awhile. In July I ordered 4 flats. 3 came intact. The other came in 2 boxes from 2 different stores. They took them off the shelves where they could find them.
All the #8 since then have been like that. And not always packed the best this is what one box looked like when I opened it
Just glad to have them right now. |

As much as I (we) love our 16's I think the best approach is to make friends with a 20 or 12 gauge. My main clay shooters are 12 gauges (OU & SxS), and it makes the 16 gauge ammo go a lot further. |

90% of my hunting including waterfowl is done with my 16 gauge Ithaca 37"s. 98% of what I shoot are reloads. I haven't had very good luck with the Herters shells in any of the older guns so this is of no great loss to me personally. The .410's I bought are for a breech loader. That being said I hate to see any source of shells disappear. Actually when Cabela's went public a few years back I kinda expected this to happen. Once the bean counters and corporate board took control the Cabelas brothers dream started to die on the vine. At least it was BassPro instead of somebody like Bain Capitol. |

They send you a email? Still showing limited stock on the website. This could get interesting. |

A ha! Duh... Couldn't figure what the heck.
I grabbed a case of the .410 7.5's
Would have rather had somethin bigger, but no such animal.
A case of 6's and a case of 7.5 pheasants.
Dont have much backstock, so....
Just in case..... |

At first I tried to get the 6's in .410, as it said "limited" but it would not go to check out. It took the 7.5 order, however.
Hope they don't arrive like CI's. |

All this talk about them dropping Herters made me buy 20 more boxes, I already have 8 cases in my basement.
It will make my kids happy. |
