Just wondering if any other members have handled the older CZ BRNO 16 Ga and what your thoughts were.
I've always seen the 12 GA version and handled it from time to time at our local gun dealers but never saw the 16 GA in person until I got real lucky about 2 years ago and found one online. Although it needed some work, I was instantly pleased with it and its now one of my Grouse getters. And for what I paid for it, you cant beat it for value compared to 16's priced over $1000.00
One thing that I get a kick out of is the drastic cast off in the stock, but it doesn't seem to effect my shooting at all. Funny, all my other doubles have 0 cast, and I cant notice a difference in results.
Anybody else have one? |

I don't have one, but a friend had one ing 16 gauge that I used many times. It had cast off and a perch belly straight grip stock. It was a very well made, coil spring, sidelock, and it handled wonderfully. |

It does come up nice and swings gracefully. |

It had them, but I had them removed along with the cheek piece. |

I think each looks gaudy and has no place on an upland bird gun, but thats IMHO. |

I have a 16 bore Brno. It is a strong gun with a lot of cast. I shoot it fairly well, for me. It is well balanced. Larry |

I have a BRNO 16 ga. sxs with double triggers. The cast is just fine for me, and the gun comes up nicely. I took it pheasant hunting last fall, and my only complaint was that I couldn't reload fast enough when large numbers of birds flushed. I really like the gun. |

I love a sling on a chukar gun, where carrying it up and down mountains 5-10 miles a day is the norm. Slip on slings can be useful in that regard though. |

Bumping this thread back up, cause I just discovered it. My first sxs ever, is also one of my favorites of all my firearms, and is also a 16ga BRNO sxs from the 40's. Chopper lump bbls, disc set strikers, side lock, double triggers, very good wood to metal fit, well balanced and proportioned. I think these are value sleepers. I just love the way mine handles, and can't get enough time in the field with her. I've been looking for another 16ga BRNO for years and haven't seen a single one other than mine. It was a pleasant surprise when I saw so many here speak up as to having one of these! Wish we could all post our girls on here. Wonder if any of you who have one, and have broken the code on posting pics here, would be interested in sponsoring us getting our BRNOs pics posted on here? Maybe we could email our pics to the sponsor to post for us that don't have a method down yet. |

I've been on the lookout for a BRNO 16 ga for a while myself. See plenty of the 12 gauge BRNO's but it seems the 16 ga is scarce as hen's teeth.
Nice to know they're out there. |
