I am new to the sxs and classic shotgun world having just acquired my first two with the their on its way. The one I am having the most difficult time getting information on is a Frederick Williams 16 ga. sxs. I've read what I could find about Frederick Williams and understand he made guns until 1950. The gun is marked Fredk Williams London & Birmingham. In checking the marks, I was a bit stumped by the stamping of Thad Scott Indianola, MS. I understand Mr. Scott was a gun dealer born in 1942 and who passed away about 10 years ago. I am very much a novice, but the vintage of Frederick Williams guns and the dates Mr. Scott would have been dealing guns wouldn't seem to overlap. The serial numbers 141136 on the receiver, barrel, and forehand all match. Can anyone assist with additional information. I have included pictures below. Thanks.

Thanks. Appreciate it. I saw those posts and reviewed. They helped provide some general info. I am hoping someone can provide some info specific to my gun based on the marks as it seems contradictory to have barrels stamped for a gun broker who was around 8 years old at the time Frederick Williams stopped making guns.

They were not imported the same time they were made.

Later, when England implemented new stricter gun laws, many guns
were bought up by dealers and shipped to the USA.
