Although it’s not MN cold this morning at 7:00 A.M. it was 24 below zero and right now it’s 17 below zero at my house. That’s chilly for this neck of the woods (S.E. WI/IL border).

No pheasant hunting today.

Good Hunting,
Mike

Its in the high 40's here in western Washington, may hit low 50's. With windchill factored into temps in the polar vortex areas thats a hundred degrees difference! Crazy!

In SW MO we were 3 degrees last night with a sharp wind. The weekend is supposed to be 60.

Actual temp when I left Bemidji this morning was -34 and the wind chill was -59.
Glad to be in the sourhern climate at home in Willmar, Mn where the temp was only -21 when I got home and wind chill -32.

seems we americans always view people in minn, Montana, n.dakota, mich as tough. ya know, the way upper's.
yet, not matter how cold it is up there....how in Gods name do people in Canada live? minn must be a summer retreat for them.

Lived there for 30 years, and left last May.
This morning it’s roughly sixty degrees warmer at my Colo home than where I lived in Mn.
And even better, my taxes are hugely less here.
Excuse me, grill is hot so I’m putting our burgers on for lunch.

Some folks in Fort Collins are going to use my male as a stud in the next couple of weeks - long drive for them, but a great Ryman type match. We have been corresponding over the last month and they have had no snow there. That seems crazy to me, but I realize they are only at 5,000’ on the eastern side of the Rockies. Still it seems like you folks would be getting snow.

Good Hunting,
Mike

Grew up 30 miles south of Canada on Lake Superior in the 70's.
We'd get 5 feet of snow in a couple days, then temps would fall to -25.
As school was closed because buses couldn't run - us kids would all be out in our snorkel parkas and Sorels running allover town in the cold competing for snow shoveling jobs for the old folks. Then if we were lucky enough to make adequate gas money - we'd put fuel in our sleds and go "beelin".
Yea it was butt cold but it didn't stop us.
And there was no Facebook to whine about the weather on Very Happy .
That being said - I'll take SW Montana weather now, thank you.

Wicked cold temps by any standard. Returning to normal winter temps tomorrow. I've got a setter that has been bouncing off the walls without her outside exercise the last few days.

-24 or so, with a -35 wind chill, yesterday. That is ice in our facial hair. We did about 4-5 miles, plenty for yesterday. Same distance, today.

Best,
Ted
