I'm looking to buy a used Spanish Sidelock. I fall alot in the grouse woods so a new one wouldn't be wise. Needs a straight grip and 28" or longer barrels.
Thanks,
Randy

It was listed in 2014. This one would have been perfect. I sent an IM but... no response.

I'd like to stay under $5000 but may go up if I sell some stuff.

Op, what other characteristics are you looking for? LOP? Drop at heel? Cast? Chambers, chokes fixed? Weight? You say ya fall a lot, therefore if one meets all your functionality particulars, can it be dinged up some as long as it has no dents in bbls or rust? What made that old 2014 linked gun “perfect”? I’ve seen a bunch of nice spanish doubles under $5k, but if looks are to be negated by falling a lot (maybe), what are the most important attributes which attract you to a gun like you have in mind?

Seems to me the Jaquas 16 bore is at a very good price. Considering what the new 4/53's sell for now.

Yes, 4/53s are box locks. I think he was thinking they are quality, with the drops and falls may be a good alternative.

Thanks for all the replies. I'm still looking. I do like the 4/53s but already have a Dickinson 16 ga. Boxlock. I bought it to try and get by but I just like sidelocks more. I wish I could get ahold of Couesboy but he's been off the forum since 2014 I think.
