Never shot a banded woodcock in WI, but I have helped do some banding. The program here pales in comparison to MN and especially MI, where there is a robust group of volunteer certified banders. If anyone has a dog reliable to band with and is interested in it further, the Pine Ridge Grouse Camp in northern MN hosts an annual banding clinic/training. The Project Upland linked video below is a fantastic view of a first season with a bird dog, and first time bird dog owner and around minute 8:00 he shoots a banded woodcock in MN. Pretty cool.

Great video except it made me long for hunting season, a distant 6 months away.
Anybody seen any woodcock in MN yet?
