Checked off another box with my 16ga Sauer drilling today. I am on a one-man quest to prove that one gun can do almost everything. So far, so good.

I hammed it up a bit for the one picture... Very Happy

Not much of a story really. I passed on a jake who was hovering around the decoy and as he walked off, I assumed he was returning, but it turned out it was a Tom. Let him come in tight and dropped him. This was the opening day of the season in Ontario.
I have a brutal cold and had to drag my butt out of bed early. Glad I did.

Very Nice, well done. Now it's your turn to gobble.

Rifle is 7x65R Brenneke. I have a clawmount 1.5-6 Hensolt Wetzlar for it plus a Krieghoff .22 insert. I’m working on acquiring a 410 “little skeeter” for it too Very Happy

Grow a goatee (or a Van Dyke) and your dog will compliment you on your good taste in choosing to look good like him.

Nice bird, nice drilling. Purple power!

Tried for a whitetail last fall, but the deer did not cooperate. It’s going with me to Idaho this fall. If the stars align, an elk or mule deer box may get checked off. I’m gonna use it in Montana and NoDak for pheasant as well. I have already checked off the pheasant and ruffed grouse boxes in Ontario. I added a bit of length to make it fit me for wingshooting, and I seem to shoot it as well as any of my other doubles.

Here is the story behind the gun http://www.16ga.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21179

I agree with you Dave, but as a volunteer firefighter, all I am allowed is a moustache. At least the grey matches his... Laughing

Dilly, nice write up on the gun. I’m curious how you figured out the best dimensions for the stock extension? That barvarian hump back seems like extending it following original lines might make the dac too low. Then again, that might be what you need. How’s the cast?
