eng-pointer,
Do not regret. I should not have commented on the dosage as there are dogs that are extremely sensitive to Ivermectin.
I have edited my post and removed the suggestion on Ivermectin dosage for dogs. |

I would never use a vaccine that is sold as a single dose on my animals. No quality vaccine manufacturers sell small animal vaccine in a single dose. A person could get the 25 pack of a good vaccine and split it with friends.
But please realize the annual vet visit is about much more than vaccine updates. Think about it, when we go to the doctor are we that concerned about infectious disease? I am more concerned about my BP, cholesterol, sugar levels, etc. For animals it’s similar, check up to evaluate the dog’s aging, discover issues before they become a big problem. It’s about prevention.
Here’s to long live, vibrant life for us and our critters! Cheers!!

All 3 dogs get stripped and brushed daily. Nails, teeth and ears once a week. Bath once a month. The Pudelpointer is easy. The short haired small cover dog setter is also extremely easy. My long hair tri-color is the most difficult but still easy with the proper tools. I trim the feathers on his feet and legs that's all the cutting required. I enjoy the contact and bond we have everyday and it keeps my house clean and my wife happy. |

Chester is warmly loved by all here, but I can hear it from down the street if he sets foot inside the house uninvited.

My late, lamented Gordon Sasha got her nails trimmed free at the vet.
Grooming, well, she hated the brush, and hated the dog wash because of the noise of water on the metal tub. I did a good bit of work on her coat myself, but let pros do it, too. Don't remember what I paid.
Miss her horribly. |
