Does anyone know why the PW 800 series has a larger diameter de-priming than the Hornady 366's. I was setting the 800 up to run winn. CF hulls for the first time and noticed at the bottom of the stroke it got really tight. I thought at first maybe I was bottoming out into the base wad, but that was not the case. The PW pin will slide through my other hulls by hand but the WCF won't. Or are the WCF just smaller than other hulls? |

For grins took the primer out of one of the few Win CF's I have and it is tight on my MEC SM deprime pin also. It appears that the molded plastic at the top of the primer pocket closes in a bit to ~0.180". If I was loading those I'd ignore it and let the pin open up the constriction or if causing a loading problem use drill bit to clean out the little lip of plastic.
BTW; I have a handful of the coveted Win (golden ticket) CF's that I won't be using. If someone needs/wants them PM me with an address and I'll get a USPSFRB headed your way. Recip'ing w/some 16ga Cheds or Rems or 45-70 brass or 357max brass would be nice. |
