Looking to buy an early A5. Preferably one with a 2-9/16” or 65mm chamber. Doesn’t have to be a safe queen. |

Wahoo, I have been watching and it’s been a struggle to find a gun that hasn’t been altered. I am not looking for a pristine gun but a shooter. I have two little boys and I am trying to secure three stealth sweets and three short chambered guns for the three of us. Some day in the future I might have Arts restore them but right now I just want somewhat clean shooters. |

I have looked at that one. It’s too nice for me. There have been a few that have went for 300-400 lately. |

$1150 starting bid for a 65mm A5? WHATS THE POINT???
Mine was $250 a few years back and is still a $250 gun. Cheap fun, period. Yes, I will break a few clays with it and crank out some roll crimp notox shells for a quick local duck outing, but take it to the Potholes or the Dakotas on a real hunt? No way.

Wahoo again way to nice. I am looking for shooters. I agree with Brewster it’s mostly just to tinker with. Not looking to spend more than $500 |

The top one fits the bill. I have that one and a few others that you haven’t posted on my gunbroker watch list. I was really hoping somebody here would have one with the 2-9/16” chamber. I’ve bought three really nice guns in the last 3-4 months that were all under $500 so I know it can be done. I have enough 2-3/4” guns. Looking for a new challenge when it comes to reloading. |

IMO Art's guns while nice are way over priced , but then again he does sell an awful lot of them .
Also his redos are not are correct restorations as he hot blues all the parts ( as opposed to slow rust blue like they should be ) and his stock finishes are 2 part epoxy not oil like the original finishes |

I agree they are very nice but if I am going to spend that money I want an original gun. I do have one that’s had a terrible reblue that I got for a good price and it’s kind of rare. Art will be restoring that one for me as the engraving needs to be recut. I will find what I want just have to be patient. |
