FallCreekFan,

Now take her out and shoot a few Grouse or any other birds you might like to hunt!

That’s my plan, Dave (although the birds will likely be clay 😏).

Can't go wrong with a 1911!

It may be heavy.

It may be wide.

It may kick like a mule.

It may be ugly.

It may weigh a ton when loaded.

It will get you out of short range problems.

If you can shoot, it will get you out of 80 metres problems.

You can bi#chslap someone with it, and they will not argue with you.

If you are good, 0 to 30 yds it is your best friend.

She is heavy.

Her ammo weighs more than any other.

Her trigger creep is obscene.

The web of your right hand will be sore.

Your ears will be deaf.

YOUR TARGET WILL BE DOWN. AND DEAD. NO NEED TO CHECK.

My armory:

1911 Colt 22 Ace

Thompson 1911 (worthless piece of s#it)

Ruger SR 1911 very good .

Rat Gun: Remington-Rand slide. Essex frame. NM bushing and barrel. Dyer Group-Gripper. Slide pinched and clearanced to frame. Hammer and sear polished.

1969 Colt Gold Cup. No more be said.

OMG! Would you even take THAT out into the woods! Too beautiful!

Main reason I would not buy a Weatherby;........Too afraid of messing it up in the woods. Would be a wall hanger if I owned it, and I had enough money to own wall hangers.

Give me regular weapons to shoot. Nothing too fancy. Just regular shooting pieces.

NG,

Good guns were meant to be used, that is why there are Master Gun Makers in business, to make sure guns of all different grades can be repaired and refinished.

There are all kinds of field grade guns also. Even those that have been engraved.
