Did you get a pine plank? They seem to run the gamut. |

I bought one on November 27 at a local shop, had been fondling it for a few weeks. It has pretty decent wood on it. Got it in 26" barrel when the $150 rebate was in effect and so far have harvested 5 ducks and 2 roosters with it. It's a dream to carry. Surprisingly, it really is everything I had hoped it would be. |

These folks will make you want you want

They will do this and MORE
Duplication of customers stocks is another service that is offered, the supplied stock is taped to protect it from being marked by the stylus and is returned looking just as supplied. Damaged or broken stocks can usually be repaired enough to duplicate in the event another useable pattern is not available. Those customers with Synthetic stocks may also have them duplicate in a wood of their choice. |

Pretty much Dave.
And I really do not like the Browning high gloss finish.
May check with Wenig about a new stock.
Anyone know what that costs, excluding the wood? |

I was disappointed with the wood I got, too. It had zero grain, but when I had it changed to a straight stock my wood guy made it look decent with a very dark stain. My A5 12 gauge has a much better stock. |

Not cheap. They are fast in turn around time however. And do great work.
Friend of mine that several of us on here are trying to talk into going 16 ga. had his first year Win 21 done at Wenig with a custom fitting. Done by the same person that fits Kim Rhodes.
I watched Kim earn her first medal in Atlanta in 96 and have followed her the whole journey.
His gun is on the left. It is Wenig 75% select wood and has a palm swell and he shoots it lights out with .022 and .044. But I gave him one of my Briley boxes to send it to them to have thinwalls installed this winter.
Had my Sweet 16 modified by both Briley and UncleDanFan. It is a great grouse gun. UncleDanFan did a heck of a job IMO
For hunting it is hard to beat and now my favorite grouse gun. But am considering getting a Sweet 16 in 28" again and having a Weing custom fitting for clays. Still up in the air about it but if money were no object would do it in a heart beat. |

Who among us new version Sweet 16 owners hasn't wished/dreamt that Browning would come out with a high grade version with triple A type wood? But every time I have this dream, I wonder how triple a wood would change the weight and handling of the gun. Isnt the crap no grain wood a big part of how it weighs 5 3/4 lbs that we all love to carry in the fields? Would hanging a much heavier stock off the back change its pointability/shootability? So how much extra weight would you put up with to fulfill the dream? |

Interesting question on wood grade vs weight. I’m a wood whore so I’d take some weight for high grain walnut. |
