Kasuga shotguns.
I brought one a ways back in 16 ga. A beautiful gun (albeit a tad short in LOP) but know very little about them. Made in Tokyo, shut up shop maybe 30-40 years back. Any further info would be welcome. Seems I can't post photos here. Never mind.
P.S. my first post.

Email me the photos. I’ll get them up for you. tedjs@usfamily.net

Unrelated,my Dad had a Remington 700 customized in Japan when he was there. He said there were plenty of good gunsmiths, and work was reasonable. Not sure who their market was, but, they built good guns.

Best,
Ted

I have a skb made in Japan. I would put it up there with browning and beretta. Great shooter. It’s a 410 made in the 70’s. I hear the new ones aren’t the best, but don’t own one. Can’t see it being any worse then any other brand. If it goes boom when you pull the trigger- who cares - shoot the shit out of it

The mystery gun:

The double triggers and straight stock, with a semi-beavertail, would have been looked at strangely here in the US. However, seems like a nicely built gun, in the perfect gauge.

Best,
Ted

Beautiful. Has some of the same general look of my skb. Should be a good shooter.

Comes up sweetly and points where I look.
Can't ask more than that.
Appears to be a copy of a Churchill 25.
Where I hunt it's about the perfect gun.

Clearly no one has much to share on this.
Only one thing for it. I'll go to Japan and find out for myself.
To be honest I'm going there next month anyway.
So no biggy. Thanks.

16ga.com is a tiny little corner of the shooting sports world. We are few, here. There is a chance none of that companies guns made it here.
We can’t share information we don’t have.
Take notes when you are in Japan. Then, share what you learn with us.
Have a safe trip.

Best,
Ted

Have a safe trip sir.
If all else fails send it to me. I will shoot and won’t care where or why, as long as it goes boom when I pull the trigger.

New Zealand to Texas would be a long, expensive trip. Bet you could find a 16 gauge double that was a bit closer.

Best,
Ted

Please do not misunderstand, no critisism intended. I searched the interweb all over for little return. This is a site I will return more frequently as I start focusing on my sweet 16 ga. Something of interest will the reloading section as I am buying a 2nd hand MEC 600 SM and will be looking to load sub 1oz with subsonic powder as the Kasuga is not only short but a tad light (5.2 lbs). I thank all for their responses.

None taking on this end. We all have been there, searching for info, not to find what we are looking for. Sometimes it’s the people that you meet along the way that matters most. Good bunch on here, say tuned never know what might pop up.
