I am looking for books, not so much how to hunt these birds but more about the birds themselves.

What books do you folks like the best on these two game birds?

Thanks in advance.

I like the technical papers
Less opinion, more fact.

If you are interested in the birds then you may also find interesting the books about where the birds live.

In that regard, it would be difficult to do better than John Madson......Where TheSky Began, for example.
There are others.

You may find this article interesting for a novel way of scouting game birds. Project Upland is a new magazine that I have really enjoyed. It has four issues a year with almost no advertising. I think they accomplish this by selling ads for their weekly e-mails they send out and the e-mails have great content, both reading and videos.

Good Hunting,
