Checked a couple sources (including Recob) for this filler for use with the 3/4 recipe in the black hull. Anybody steer me to them?

Thanks for the link, Hoa. One more question- is that recipe calling for the NC28 nitro card (which looks like it might need to be doubled to reach a half inch) or the 38W28 waxed hard card? And is this placed in the wad before it is loaded into the hull, or placed on top of the shot after wad and shot are deposited, or on top of the powder after it and the primer have been loaded? I have the MEC Grabber. Thanks for helping a new reloader.

I use my filler wads-given to me free by another shooter whose work considers them trash-on top of the shot----I also load on a Grabber and this prevents anything from getting stuck in the shot drop tube.Performance will not be affected and neither will wad seating pressure |

I put 'em in the bottom of the shot cup. I use a single stage Sizemaster and after dropping the powder into the hull, I pick up a wad, turn it upside down and "pick up" a card (one of a handful I keep laying flat on a workbench top), then place the wad rightside up in the guide.
As I bring down the shot tube it pushes the card to the bottom of the wad as it seats the wad into the hull. It doesn't really take any longer than just putting a wad in by itself. The only thing that does seem to take time is keeping a supply of cards spread on the workbench top. |

I guess I asked two questions, not one. Thanks for the options on placement. Am I safe to assume it is the thicker 38W28 waxed card on the ballistic site that I should order?

I can't speak to your specific card, but I use Circle Fly 28gauge, 1/8" nitro cards. As 16gg is fond of mentioning, they're a pretty good deal if you buy them in lots of 1000. |

I bought 10K .135" thick 28 ga wads for $65.00 shipped. That is a damned good deal in anyone's book I'll bet. Circle Fly will do you right. At that price, using multiple wads is cheap. In the R16 wad, I use one for 7/8 ounce and two for 3/4 ounce. Use one more if you are loading the SP16 wad. Buying the .135" thick nitro card wad will allow you some flexibility to load lighter or heavier shot drops. |

Thanks, just pulled up their website. Sounds like the way to go.
