use on non tox areas on pheasants and it works just fine. And I am pretty picky about killing pheasants
have not used on ducks. but would not be afraid to use it. |

With my old 16 ga. Rem. 11 I've taken a few woodies with the old Bismuth Shot Company #4's and exactly one with the Kent 1300 fps #5's. All solid kills on off days after the opening week salvo with my 12 gauge.
This year I plan on going 16 gauge on the opener. I'm gong to start with the same Kents and bring a pocketful of the Boss bismuth #5's. We're in mostly timber and there are always a few mallards and teal in the mix. Looking forward to it and I'll certainly report back. |

Just looked at Kents website and don't see any 16's under the waterfowl section. Maybe I need more coffee!
Have only shot pheasants with Bismuth. Like others have said, have used Kents 28 ga and 1oz 16 ga and no complaints. These are a step up from those:

Used the 6's on my only shot on a pheasant late December last year out of my new version A5. Dead in air. I wasn't able to find any of the 2 shot version last year except for mailorder but would like to try them on snows.
I think if you use the search function here, you may find other reports. |

Dave shot several limits of mallards with 16 and 28 Bismuth something I had planned on shooting just always took a 12. I don't think you will be disappointed Joe |

Joe, that's good to hear. The ducks I've taken with a 16 were funner. |

I’ve shot maybe 50 or so ducks over the last few years with the Kent blue 10rd box. Teal - mallards, early to late. All over decoys. No complaints really.
Last year I shot over 100 ducks. All but 6 with a 16ga and most with BOSS shot. BOSS flat hammers. Shot some geese and divers, early to ice up with them. No complaints. |

I've squirreled away a bunch of Kent Bismuth 5's over the last few years and I bought a 100 of the Boss 5's. I figured I'd start with the Kents as the opening week is "usually" good shooting. Last year the Mississippi River was very high and our area had way too much water. Duck hunting stunk, and I quickly transitioned to upland birds. |

I don’t remember the constriction numbers offhand but it’s the factory mod or full in my new model Browning A5. The full is has a really tight constriction but patterns about like the mod. |

I need to email boss again. The next run of 16ga was going to be in purple hulls. |

It's kind of funny. A younger friend related using bismuth on waterfowl and how they just dropped, even out at 40 yards. He said it was really something, compared to how with steel it often took a second shot.
I explained the density and softness of bismuth shot, which he already kinda knew. Then I told him: "now you know what it was like to hunt ducks with lead shot and why people were so pissed when it was outlawed." |
