hayseed,
Tell ya what if you find an L.C. Smith gun that you want to purchase let me know and I will advise you as to whether you should make the purchase or not. Like to see you gentlemen end up with the guns you like without being taken advantage of. I have to admit the average sportsman should know more about L.C. Smith guns before you decides to purchase.
Most times the men who own graded L.C. Smith guns are seldom going to take advantage of anyone, however there are a few that will. Always good to have a mentor that know the guns to advise on the purchase of a 1st L.C. Smith Gun.
Just so you understand I do not sell guns form my L.C. Smith collection. I have however gifted 3 beautiful L.C. Smith guns thru the years to avid Grouse hunters.

Thanks Dave. Should I find something I like, I'd appreciate any advice you could offer. |

I just heard from John Boyd, who though he closed his shop is still in business. According to him "The FAIR Rizzini Iside Frames are Gauge Specific" scaled.

Call John Boyd. Sounds like he is still selling things, just not out of his old Brick and Mortar. Have to use his cell phone. 281-870-8377 arrieta2@sbcglobal.net

Just weighed mine. 6 lbs 2.7 oz, at the post office. Balance is just a hair forward of hinge pin. Feels and shoulders very nicely. Should be a good combination of carry weight and shootability / recoil. Range time soon. |

hayseed,
Have a good time with your newly acquired double gun, I am waiting for my L.C. Smith #5 gun to have a new side lock screw made and engraved. Should be ready in the next few weeks.

Isides are nice with no screw heads to get buggered leading to expensive repairs. Nice clean pinless/screwless design. You can also shoot steel.
Let us know how it shoots for you. |

Speaking of Isides it's about time I start shooting mine more in preparation of the hunting season. Tick-Tick-Tick... |

Addendum: 2-3 week delay while my Iside gets a leather-covered pad. The gun treated me so well last season I'm returning the favor. |

How well is your Iside regulated? In one of the American Rifleman mags in the bathroom there is a review of an Iside 28 gauge which gave a favorable nod to the gun. However, the pattern regulation of the two barrels looked pretty bad to me, with the pattern of one barrel a full 10 inches or so to the side, and the other barrel off several inches to the other side. I realize this may not have been the norm, just curious how well you Iside shoots to POA.

Mine must be pretty good because I've never shot a light SxS better than this Iside, long shots or short. |
