I am asking for opinions/feedback on Fabarm shotguns whether semi-auto or over/under. versions. I have been considering buying a dedicated trap gun and have studied many makers, but am not set on any one yet. I am new to trap and have been using my 16 gauge Remington 870 to decent effect with my reduced reloads. I feel I am ready to move on to something more specific for trap. Thank you for any replies. |

As far as the Fabarm goes. I regularly shoot sporting with 2 fellows that use Fabarm shotguns.
One has an XLR5 with the flat rib and adjustable stock. Over the last 5 years, I can count the times on one hand that the XLR5 has had a failure to function. Nice gun to shoot and the recoil with 1 1/8 oz. loads is SOFT. That fellow is in Master class and used the XLR5 to make it to Master about 3 years ago.
The other has an Axis Grey Sporting O/U with the adjustable comb. Never seen that shotgun hiccup. I haven't ever shot that one. He is about 35 years old and is in 'B' class, and shoots the shotgun very well.
Hope that helps |

Never heard any REAL complaints----anything mechanical won't operate at 100% ALL the time. |

goathoof,
If you are serious about purchasing a real nice Trap gun take a look at this Specialty Grade L.C. Smith Trap gun, on GI for 1,999.99 page #3. Very serious old Trap gun that somebody took real nice care of. Proven gun that will not break down on you.
There is also a Crown Grade Trap gun that will cost you over $6,000 if you are wanting a top level Trap gun.
