Just out of curiosity I’d like to see pictures of the straight English and Prince Wales stocks. The existing A5 Sweet 16 stock, with the correct shim, fits me like a glove so I’m not looking to make a change.

Converting your original A5-SW16 stock to a straight-stock won't change the essentials of gun fit. The only change I made after the straight-stock conversion was to add one of the provided provided spacers for a little extra length. That said, not everyone likes shooting with a straight stock. I do and it's my preferred configuration. |

The more I look at Dave’s straight stock the more I like it. Looks really “upland”. The only straight stock gun I have hunted with is the Rem 870 “Special Field” that they put out back in the late ‘80s. I didn’t shoot that gun very well but then the regular 870 stock doesn’t fit me well either. I shot a Win 23 double that belongs to someone else and I did shoot it well. |
