bought a couple of cases of herters 8 shot a few years ago back when it was $60 plus free shipping, decided to try it out at trap and it worked great, my old Ithaca 37 loved it. first time out with factory ammo, normal is my rem game load reloads that the 37 sometimes does not like because of a tight camber. |

The only complaint I have is that you can’t get it anymore. At least not at that price. |

I still have a couple cases of Herters #8 shot left. Think I paid $60 or so per case. Have shot up several cases on doves. The crimps on these split after 2-4 loading though. |

He he he
I may never get to the 3rd of 4th loading.
I have saved so many hulls through out the years.

On 10% off days, I got many a case fore $50 a case and free shipping. Wish I had bought them by the skid. |

I've got a stack of about 8 flats and a couple mountains of empties. Now I just need to make sure I have enough DR-16 wads to carry through all of the future reloading. The 8's are nice clay target loads. |

I just have to chime in here. When Cabela's decided they were discontinuing herders oh, there were times when I was able to get it for $3.60 a box! I think I've got like 13 Flats in the garage. All the one ounce number 8 |

Five (or so) years ago my local Cabelas had quite a bit of 16G in bulk for sale, the 1oz #6 shot was 52.95 a case and the 1 1/8oz #5 shot hi-brass loads were 62.95. I got a few of each and don't shoot as much as I should so they should last a good while. On a mostly unrelated note, certainly I can't be the only one that sees Cabelas as only a shadow of their former self after the hostile takeover by Bass Pro? |

Dick Cabelas kids sold out, they had no interest in the business their father built.
Might as well call it Cabelas Pro Shops now!
So much for competition in the market place... |

I wasn’t aware that BP take over of Cabelas was a hostile take over. Regardless, it’s a waste of time for me to go to either Cabelas or BP. |

I love the 1 1/8oz 5’s for rabbits over my beagles. My only complaint is they won’t reliably cycle my SW16 when the temps are below 15 degrees. |

Still have 3 or 4 flats of 8s unopened. Been using and loading on another 3 flats. I use them for 7/8 oz loads for clays using the DR-16 wad. Hunting loads go into new Cheddite cases, green for 1 oz loads, red for 1 1/8. |
