Goergen's gun shop has a model 31 Remington lightweight in 16 available. This is an aluminum receiver gun, and, contrary to what some might have you believe, is a durable and simply wonderful gun to carry all day. This one is 28" in the barrel, with a full choke. The price listed is $325. I have no financial interest in this gun, and already own an Ultra Ithaca in 16, so I really don't need it. But, I would like to see it end up with one of our cult members. Goergen's is located in Austin MN, and the phone # is 507-433-9280.
Good Luck!
Best,
Ted

I just had mine out yesterday--Rem Mod 31L--and I love it. Mine is Polychoked with a compensator, and it's a great gun. Carries all day, handles wonderfully. I hadn't shot it in a long time, and I'm kicking myself now for ignoring it. It's almost embarrassing to admit, given the much more expensive guns I own, but this one is hard to beat.

Somebody here ought to grab it!

Ted,
What's the weight difference twixt the lightweight and steel framed 31s?

Pete

Well Pete, I guess I've never had the digital postal scale handy when I've had both a steel framed 31 and it's aluminum brother in the same room...to be honest, I've never had a steel and aluminum version of the 31 side by side at the same time, but the difference between a steel framed Ithaca 37 and an Ultra is significant between 16 gauge, and when you compare the 16 Ultra to a 12 with a steel receiver, it is downright amazing. That 31 is a 16, and with the aluminum receiver would be a nice gun for those days when it is uphill the whole way.
Best,
Ted

Don't know what happened to the PM, someplace out in cyberspace. Hopefully the gun will arrive next week, will advise. Again I thank you Ted.
