Imman. Meffert - Suhl, hammergun, 16 gauge, 30-1/2" damascus barrels choked 10 and 22 thousandts, 2-1/2" chambers, 28/1000th min wall thickness, 6lbs-5oz, steel buttplate, double triggers, toplever, double Purdey Underbite, 14-1/4 x 1-3/8 x 2-7/8.
It is in very good condition, some light pitting on the breech walls and some light pitting in the barrels. I believe it has all of the original finishes.
I wanted to shoot a pheasant with it but I was unable to hit one with it - cocking the hammers after a Rooster flushes is difficult at best. The dogs never pointed one while I was hunting with it.
Joe/Flintsteel took these pictures for me. He is amazing with the ecamera and computer.
If you click the pictures they get bigger.
Be sure to enlarge this one!
In a previous life I was the model for this hunter - I recognize the legs. This is on the trigger guard:
I think this is the best picture I have ever seen of damascus barrels - Joe is good with that camera. If you enlarge it you can see the original striking marks:
If you enlarge the picture you can see two guys in a row boat - one rowing and one shooting:
Here is a photobucket link with more pictures of the gun - please feel free to browse.

Thanks!

I just don't know who I'm more jealous of... the guns latest caretaker or the skilled photographer. either way, good luck and I hope she gives you many years of quality service. |

Spectacular! I know what you mean about the hammers. I have SEVERELY strained my trigger finger trying to shoot before getting the hammers cocked!
