Awesome early gun, congratulations!
Post pics of top of barrels with nitro and bottom of the barrel just ahead of the flats, that tells who made the barrels. Those small marks on the barrels.
Might want to have gunsmith barrel mechanic take a look at gun before you shoot? Should be 65mm chambers unless someone opened them but that might not be bad either? Are barrels pitted very bad and can you measure bore size with expanding gauge?

Sorry I found all your pics, just so happens one of my no name guns has the same barrel maker and mystery K maker also. The one I sent you the link too. You may have answered with this Kerner gun. Thanks!

look at the pic in my post that shows the ser no on the bottom of the barrel, you also can see a capitol H with a 5 or 6 pointed star and an upside down Y or could be a partially stamped K. the nitro with a crown or some other stamp is right at the wood line of both barrels. I believe it has the short chambers, but that is ok since I reload and make my own 2.5 inch shells for my 1929 browning A5. the barrel are shiny without any pits. How do you know is an early gun? anyway to tell when it was made?

Evidently Suhl started putting date code on flats in 1923, I don’t think it usually looks like that but it may have just started? Maybe that’s why they did it like yours?
But you did fine at 720.00 that’s about what I spent on mine and yours is marked with Kerners name that’s a plus, engraving with game sene a big plus. Guy trying to sell a Kerner 16 with very similar engraving for 1999.00 on gb now. You will need some 2.5 - 2 5/8 shells for it. Do you reload?
